New York CitiBike Insights

This project scenario was about understanding New York CitiBike customer using data insights to develop new features and enhancements to improve the user experience.

Background Description

This project was experimental in nature and is in no way affiliated with my current or previous employers.

This project scenario was about understanding New York CitiBike customer using data insights to develop new features and enhancements to improve the user experience. The goal was to provide digital feature recommendations for the app based on data analysis and visualization using Tableau.

Product Management Concepts Used in Project:
  • Customer Understanding: The project focused on gaining insights into Citi Bike customers' characteristics and behaviors through data analysis and visualization.

  • Roadmap Development: The project aimed to develop a roadmap for new features and enhancements based on the identified insights and recommendations.

  • User Experience Improvement: The objective was to improve the user experience by identifying actionable recommendations through data-driven analysis.

Software Tools Used in Project:
  • Tableau: Tableau was used to create visualizations, dashboards, and a story that provided narrative and insights based on the Citi Bike data. Various visualization formats were utilized, including pie charts, line graphs, and geomaps.

  • Google Docs: A reflection paper was written in a Google Docs file to augment the Tableau story and provide detailed analysis, reasoning behind recommendations, and expected outcomes.

The project involved analyzing the Citi Bike system data, creating eight new visualizations, organizing them into dashboards, and presenting a story with annotated insights and recommendations. The recommendations for app features were expected to serve Citi Bike customers better by addressing their needs and improving their overall experience. The success of these recommendations could be measured through relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), which would provide insights into the impact of the implemented features on user engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
